Info from Glenn
Just thought I'd let you know a bit about 'Music Don't Stop' the track that's coming out in Germany on Jive It's a track that took a strange route to get to be made. Steve bud (H17 manager) passed a backing track on to me that had three different songs on top of it, with a view to me singing one of them. I liked the track but not so much the melodies or lyrics, so decided to start afresh and with the help of Keith Lowndes write a new tune to the backing track. It turned out really well and before you know where you are it's Goldpeople Feat Glenn Gregory. The tracks really good, it comes out on the 15th of April (Germany). What's strange is that after we wrote a new tune for the track Goldpeople remixed it so I have the only copy of the original tune.
I hope you like it.

Transmission | 12" Transmission 1996/1998
Back in 1995 Martin Fry (ABC) and Glenn Gregory formed The Magic Skulls together with Keith Lowndes. The Magic Skulls made techno instrumental and recorded about nine tracks. Three of which were put out on white label 12".
Melvin Welters in interview with Martin Fry: Glenn Gregory and Martin Fry "Official" text from Melomania@compuserve.com: In the summer of 1995 Glenn Gregory (Heaven 17 singer), ABC frontman Martin Fry and multi-instrumentalist Keith Lowndes got together to make some music for fun. They started working on some free-ranging experimental sessions which originally took the form of 20-minute techno instrumentals, "our version of the Sabres Of Paradise" as Martin described them. Apparently a white label 12" was put out including three songs, a cover of the Joy Division track 'Transmission' (with Fry on vocals) and two instrumentals, 'ROKU' and 'Screamer'. About six other tracks were recorded as well. The trio went on to write and record material for ABC's album Skyscraping and the Magic Skulls material didn't see the light of day. |

OH YES ! | The long awaited Kop Band / Heaven 17 / Hillsborough Crew Compact Disc
single was released on Tuesday the 26th August under the title of 'OH YES'
and features 4 tracks.
The CD starts off with a kicking dance mix of the Utrecht song and features samples of the Kop in full voice (if you were at the Owls versus Forest home game last season then you are probably singing on this CD). This is followed by an accoustic version and the CD concludes with a 'Di Canio' dance mix and a 'Carbone' mix! |

CD "Pretentious" CDMUTE171
PROMO TEXT BY MUTE: Composed and recorded by Vince Clarke (Erasure) and Martyn Ware (Heaven 17), "Pretentious" is the first-ever album to realise the potential of 3D soundscapes. It combines over 70 minutes of cinematic music and the latest in surround sound technology to create a dramatic and memorable listening experience. The first track on the album, "Music For Multiple Dimensions", was the first piece of music commissioned by and composed for the National Centre for Popular Music in Sheffield, and is performed there several times daily in the Soundscapes 3D auditorium. The album was created using Animix 3D visualisation software and a Lake Huron 3D audio processor, Animix being specifically written to help create pieces of music for the auditorium. The CD comes complete with a unique 3D foldout inlay with digital imagery by Martyn Ware. "Pretentious" is a daring, innovative experiment by two of the most creative minds in the music world and is an essential release for anyone interested in exploring the ultimate in audio-sensory adventures. |
