BIGGER THAN AMERICA reviewed by Tracey Grimson

Heaven 17's first album in eight years suggests one thing: this band should crawl back into the hovel from whence it came and be content with the royalty cheques. In fact, if their claims of socialism are true ("concerned about power and the people who wield it"), then Heaven 17 should stop trying to generate cash with this new album. Because there's a whole world out there which will happily live without it.
The band has returned to using analogue synths, presumably in an attempt to get "back to the roots". But all this does is restrict an already stodgy sonic approach, sending the camp Europoptrash attempted on Bigger Than America further into the bowels of banality.
